insulation (CI) is a must.
The ultimate solution
is OX.
Meeting increasingly more stringent energy codes requires the use of CI (continuous insulation located outboard of framing members). With OX’s powerful structural insulated sheathing systems, you achieve robust CI and a superior air and water barrier - all with just a single product.
OX Structural Insulated Sheathing
products provide 4 functions in 1:
STRENGTH
Comparable shear values to 7/16" sheet of OSB
THERMAL BARRIER
Best in class R-Value per inch
AIR BARRIER
Built in air barrier eliminates the need for residential or commercial wrap
WATER BARRIER
Code-approved WRB integrated onto facer
ox
the epitome of power and efficiency
You build faster, stronger, smarter, and reduce risk with OX. That’s because advances in building and material sciences render multi-component exterior backup walls obsolete and highly inefficient – in time, labor, logistics, and energy.
Single-component OX Structural Insulated Sheathing products provide ultimate efficiency:
FASTER TO
INSTALL
Eliminates separate WRB/AB and CI steps
LESS
LABOR
Requires only one trip around the structure to install
SIMPLIFIED LOGISTICS/
REDUCED RISK
Single product. Single supplier.
Single installer. Single Warranty.
SUPERIOR THERMAL
PERFORMANCE
Eliminates thermal bridging through studs

SELF-GASKETING EFFECT OF POLYISO FOAM for
Superior Moisture Protection
3-in-1
Sheathing
Fasteners for cladding penetrate through water barrier creating a pathway for water to damage sheathing over time.
OX 4-in-1 Structural
Insulated Sheathing
Closed-cell polyiso insulation creates a self-gasketing effect around cladding fasteners, preventing water penetration.

Achieves thermal code
without 2x6 construction
2x6 Construction
without OX-IS®
2x4 Construction
with OX-IS®
To comply with more stringent energy codes you can increase framing to 2"x6" to accommodate thicker insulation. But the far better solution is to incorporate continuous insulation with OX-IS.
Does it really work?
Thermal imaging of the same structure with and without continuous insulation shows the incredible effect it can have on your structure’s thermal performance and energy efficiency.
BUILT WITHOUT INSULATED SHEATHING
Without continuous insulation, heat loss through framing (thermal bridging) is significant.
BUILT WITH ½” (R-3) CONTINUOUS INSULATION
Even just ½” of continuous insulation greatly reduces heat loss through wall framing and improves on cavity performance.
